An anniversary and unexpected hospital tour

Well this last month sure has flown by! No time for blogging to say the least. At 22 weeks hubbs and I enjoyed our 2 year wedding anniversary. We went out for a delicious teppanyaki dinner and I snapped this little photo, but didn't get the chance to do my weekly chalkboard picture. Boo! I started not feeling too fabulous on October 1st, and woke up the next day feeling like I'd never felt before. After a long day in and out of the doctor, lab and ultrasound office I ended up in the hospital. Silly me, when my primary care doctor said to go to the ER I thought she literally meant it. So I show up and they take one look at me and send me upstairs to Labor & Delivery. Scared the HECK out of me to be there so early. I guess I just thought they admitted preggers that were literally in labor, but apparently they take the sick ones too. So there I stayed for two days from an apparent gastro virus that caused a lot of pain and an enlarged liver. Not fun. But I do have to say that the hospital was awesome! The nurses were great, my OB came over several times to check on me. It was reassuring that through it all our Baby girl was as healthy as can be and not in any distress at all. Although it wasn't quite the tour we had planned, our early stay gave the hubbs and I a mental checklist of things to be sure and pack in our hospital bag for when D Day actually comes. A few weeks later, lots of bedrest, soup and water and I'm back to work and feeling much better! I even got around to a few weekly photos so enjoy!

21 Weeks

Total weight gain: 9 lbs
Maternity clothes? Yep!
Stretch marks? Still using the magic potion hoping it'll prevent them!
Sleep: Much better this week.
Best moment of the week: Hearing her heartbeat at my monthly appointment.
Missing anything? A glass of wine might be nice.
Movement? I can officially say we've graduated from flutters to full on kicks! Feels like she's doing gymnastics in there!!
Food cravings: Skinnycow Ice Cream sandwiches! I woke up thinking about them one day!

Weekly Wisdom: Learning that baby girl is on the "larger side of average" already. Not much of a surprise to us!

20 Weeks!

Halfway baby! Soooo happy to say that. Without getting too sappy let me just say that there were days on our journey when I wasn't sure it'd ever happen for us, and now knowing we are halfway to meeting our baby girl is such an incredible feeling.

Total weight gain: 8 lbs, alright!
Maternity clothes? All day, every day.
Stretch marks? No, thank you.
Sleep: Pretty awful this week :(
Best moment of the week: Hitting the halfway mark!
Missing anything? Eating without crazy heartburn. Ayyiyi
Movement? Yes, she's still really low and kicks several times a day.
Food cravings: Spinach with vinegar.
Symptoms: Mmmhhmmm
Queasy or sick? Peanut-y stuff still
Looking forward to: Getting something customized with her pretty little name!
Weekly Wisdom: Our ultrasound tech said she doesn't like the fruit/veggie size comparisons bc they can vary in size, so at 20 weeks she compared baby to the size of a Pepsi can!

19 weeks!

A little late in posting, but here's the update!
Total weight gain: 3 lbs
Maternity clothes? Yep!
Stretch marks? Nope.
Sleep: Much better
Best moment of the week: Realizing that we had decided on baby's name and telling our families!

Food cravings: Otter pops, shaved ice!
Symptoms: Numbness and round ligament pain continues and it's no joke!
Queasy or sick? I knew I jinxed it last week! Nausea is back with a vengeance and for whatever reason peanuts make me S I C K!

18 weeks!

Today marked 18 weeks which means we're almost halfway! It was a little stressful week for this mama-to-be, but today we went in for the anatomy scan ultrasound and heard the most wonderful news-Baby C is developing perfectly and is definitely a girl! Now we can put some paint on those nursery walls! Here's a picture from today's ultrasound. I just love her sweet little face already.
And now for the weekly update:
Total weight gain: 2 lbs (lost 2 this week. what the heck?)
Maternity clothes? A cute new dress my Mom picked up for me!
Stretch marks? None, crossing fingers!
Sleep: Not too well, sharp pains and numbness all week.
Best moment of the week: The most amazing prenatal massage of my life! And of course seeing our sweetheart on the screen and learning everything looks great!
Missing anything? Energy!
Movement? She is moving around 24/7! I love the feeling :)
Food cravings: FRESH FRUIT! I put this in caps to emphasize how much I had to have it!! And my hubbs made it happen! What a guy.
Symptoms: Where do I start? Apparently this little one likes to hang out nice and low which results in numbness and sharp pains. I'm hoping she takes a trip north soon ;)
Queasy or sick? I'm afraid to put this in writing but for the first week I can actually say...NO! Just phantom gagging but no puking which means no meds. Yay!
Looking forward to: picking out paint for the nursery!
Weekly Wisdom or Wacky Moment: Baby moved like crazy when we watched our favorite show, Big Brother. She's a fan already.

Best moment of the week: Feeling her first kick!!
Missing anything? Not yet.
Movement? Yes! Occasional flutters and then the first kick while I slept last night. Wasn't sure if it was a dream or not, but felt another earlier this evening.
Food cravings: Still salty!
Symptoms: hip/joint pain which I wasn't expecting so soon.
Queasy or sick? Understatement. Still on anti-nausea meds to limit vomiting :(
Looking forward to: a prenatal massage on Thursday!
Weekly Wisdom or Wacky Moment: When my hubbs asked me if we will have the baby at the same place we go for our doctors appointments... I told him I would prefer the hospital! Ha!
